Work with Teachers and Children: Learning Outside of the Classroom is the use of places beyond the classroom for teaching and learning. It is about getting children and young people out and about, providing them with challenging, exciting and different experiences to help them learn.
As we enter our third year at Cheriton, there have been some fantastic developments in their Wild Life Area, resurrecting their pond area and installing dipping platforms and an outdoor classroom
Thanks to the Armed Forces Covenant SHout are engaging with the newly arrived families from 1 Royal Gurkha Regiment we have accessed more areas in the Forest School and created a forest path to the Pond Area with the help of FOGS ( Friends Of Guston)
Built a Outdoor learning area and enhanced their ampitheatre with a 40ft canopy and curved benches. We Geocached and took a road to rememberance and retraced StepShort
The project is to take a barren allotment and turn it into a community plant to plate project
Built a forest school area: Eco toilet, fire pit, planted over 100 trees and delivered outdoor bespoke packages as well as delivering a year long programme to all of the Year Groups
